We look at the mind-body connection to ensure all of you is feeling good and healthy. In fact, there’s a connection between mental health and physical issues, such as pain, hypertension, appetite, and sleep problems. That’s why we offer on-site mental health counseling.
Together, we do our focused work in 30 minutes. You’ll always know what we’re working on and have actionable steps for the next session.
Your therapist also coordinates with your primary care provider. Your physical health and your mental health can affect each other. When your team is coordinated, we can watch for issues like side effects of medication or physical manifestations such as sleep issues and pain. Then we work together to find a solution that works for you.
Especially right now in the COVID-19 emergency when there is so much uncertainty and upheaval, we’re all dealing with crisis at some level. Simply put, things feel harder right now. It’s OK to ask for help getting through it or to talk to someone about how it’s affecting you. We can work on coping skills and reframing things to make life feel more manageable. It can be good to have someone safe to talk to.
This situation is abnormal and it’s understandable to feel anxious, stressed, or depressed. Help is available, so don’t just let it go. We try to make mental health therapy as accessible as possible with appointments within a few days. Appointments are available on-site, by telephone, or virtually. There’s really no harm in giving therapy a try.
Sometimes we might have to refer patients out of Vivacity Care Center for more complex issues than can’t be addressed in 30-minute sessions. In these cases, we along with the care advocates can help find in-network treatment options.
Whether you get care on-site or outside of Vivacity Care Center, the care advocates are available to help explain costs and what your health plan covers.
